A Chartered Accountant (FCCA) and seasoned conservation finance expert with over 15 years of experience in conservation finance, having served as Regional Finance Manager and Financial Controller at African Parks Network.
He has held senior roles in the finance sector including Chief Financial Controller, Director of Credit, and Management Accountant. Dr Chimiti holds a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from ZCAS University, as well as an MBA and an MSc in Strategic Planning from Heriot-Watt University (Edinburgh Business School). His doctoral research examined the effectiveness of Delegated Public-Private Partnership (DPPP) models in managing state-protected areas in Zambia, Malawi, and Rwanda. With deep expertise in donor-funded project oversight, institutional compliance, and sustainable financing, Dr Chimiti blends strategic insight with practical field experience. He is passionate about biodiversity conservation, stakeholder engagement, and adaptive governance approaches that strengthen resilience and promote inclusive development in protected area management.
