Across Africa’s wildscapes, communities are showing that conservation succeeds when the people who live on the land are supported to manage it sustainably. Their livelihoods, well-being, and ability to cope with pressures like climate change all depend on healthy ecosystems – something they have always known. From Namibia’s Kunene Highlands to Mozambique’s Futi Corridor, these landscapes are home to communities who, when given the right tools and backing, successfully manage conservancies, protect wildlife, and build new sources of income, such as tourism and the restoration of degraded rangelands. Conserve Global is proud to support this model of community-led conservation, which is delivering real results across Africa, and has entered Big Give’s Christmas Challenge to raise funds to support these communities as they protect a world where nature conserves us.
