Tondwa Conservation Limited
Jimmy is an experienced wildlife conservation and community conservation professional who has worked in the different protected areas of Zambia over the last decade.
Jimmy worked in landscape-based conservation interventions such as generating socio-ecological information around wildlife, forestry, hydrology, and fisheries to inform landscape-scale conservation planning, development of conservation-based livelihoods, and conservation education for awareness raising and community involvement in co-management of natural resources.
Jimmy’s experience includes working as a Trainee Wildlife Safari Guide/Community Officer with Wilderness Safaris where he supported ecological monitoring and fire management in Kafue National Park, and conservation education and livelihoods in communities near Mosi-O-Tunya National Park in Livingstone, Zambia. Lately, Jimmy worked with WWF Zambia on the Upper Zambezi River Basin Programme where he supported landscape-scale conservation interventions such as research and monitoring, protected area management planning, stakeholder management, policy advocacy, education and outreach, and restoration efforts (in the Zambezi Source and West Lunga Ecosystems) in the Kabompo Focal Landscape (Northwestern Zambia). Jimmy’s interest is in contributing to the exploration and actualization of ways in which communities can maximize benefits from their natural resources (more importantly as a source of knowledge, food, income, and employment) while maintaining the ecological integrity of their landscapes for sustainable development.
